Mamelani is excited to have been accepted to present our work at the International Alternative Care Conference, taking place in Geneva Switzerland in October this year. The conference brings together researchers, policy makers, government representatives, development practitioners and young people for much needed discussions and learning exchanges about how to best work with issues that present themselves in the Alternative Care space. Participants will be able to share experiences, engage with current research findings and learn from promising practices, as well as share ideas regarding remaining challenges for best supporting young people placed in Alternative Care. Gerald, Mamelani’s Programme Manager will be attending the conference, along with Carly and Waydene, tow of the young people who are participants in Mamelani’s Youth Development Programme, to share experiences with others at the conference. We are grateful to the World Childhood Foundation for their support of this experience.
